Dancing Joy is a film that celebrates the innate beauty in every culture and people. The music is Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, combining Friedrich Schiller’s “Ode to Joy” with both instrumental and choral music--a symphonic triumph. To this, dancers of 21 cultures perform original choreography, drawing on their traditional movement and their own inspiration. Traveling 56,000 miles to film the dancers in stunning natural and historical venues, the filmmakers crafted a message of human value and brotherhood through the universal languages of music, dance and beauty. The producer and some performers will be on site that evening.
The Cookstove Project builds clean, efficient cookstoves in rural Uganda and Nepal using local materials and training local cookstove masters. Open cookfires in the home kill 4 million people yearly; inhaled smoke equal to 40 cigarettes a day damages lungs, heart, brain and other tissues. Through the sustainable, ownership-based approach of the Cookstove Project, clean cookstoves transform lives and preserve the environment.
